As beautiful as the Alexandrina Magnolia’s blooms are, its a really perfect addition to your landscape even when its not in season as it maintains an attractive mounded shape all year around!
Alexandrina Magnolia is mostly noted moderate sized stature, somewhat fragrant purple-pink flowers and year round interest. This can be a moderate-growing, deciduous shrub/mid-sized tree so one can generally rise to be over 20-25 feet tall and equally as wide. Goblet shaped flowers are frivolously fragrant and may sporadically repeat bloom in mid summer. Medium green leaves turn yellow in fall.
The Alexandrina Magnolia is best grown in moist, organically wealthy, acidic, well-drained soil and in full sun. This can be a Spring-blooming magnolia that may be less apt to suffer frost damage in spring.
